Keys and Notes to the Game Oct. 16 vs. Buffalo Sabres

The Anaheim Ducks take on the Buffalo Sabres to open their 3-game homestand.

The Ducks have a large order in getting the win here at Honda Center as they take on the Sabres who are on a 6 game winning streak. As Rickard Rakell said, “we have to stop that” when he was asked about being disciplined and putting an end to their winning streak.

Keys and Notes to the game

  • The Sabres haven’t lost a game (5-0-1)
  • The Sabres power play is deadly (7 power play goals in 6 games)
  • Watch out for Victor Olofsson (lead scorer on the Sabres power play)

What the Ducks need to do to come out alive:

  • More offense, score by committee
  • More bodies to the net
  • Stay out of the box
  • One-time the puck (spent a chunk of time doing at practice)
  • The Ducks still looking for the first power play goal of the season
