Ducks send Chase De Leo, Kiefer Sherwood and Jake Dotchin down to the AHL San Diego Gulls

With Getzlaf, Ritchie, Guhle being spotted at practice the Ducks made some moves that leads me to think that they are game ready and a possibility for the last two games of the season.

The Ducks have reassigned center Chase De Leo, right wing Kiefer Sherwood and defenseman Jake Dotchin to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

De Leo, 23 (10/25/95), recorded a +1 rating during his Anaheim debut in a 5-1 win on Mar. 30 at Edmonton. A native of La Mirada, CA, De Leo became the fourth Southern California native to play for the Ducks. De Leo, who was acquired from Winnipeg in exchange for Nic Kerdiles on June 30, 2018, has earned a +2 rating in three career NHL games with the Ducks and Jets.

Selected by Winnipeg in the fourth round (99th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, De Leo has collected 19-32=51 points with a +14 rating in 61 games with the Gulls this season. De Leo returns to San Diego leading the club in assists, while ranking second in points and goals.

Sherwood, 24 (3/31/95) has recorded 6-6=12 points with a +1 rating in 50 games with Anaheim this season. Signed as a free agent on Mar. 19, 2018, Sherwood earned his first career NHL point (assist) in his NHL debut on Oct. 3 at San Jose, and scored his first career NHL goal on Oct. 13 at Dallas. The 6-0, 194-pound forward has collected 6-11=17 points with a +14 rating in 24 games with San Diego this season.

Dotchin, 25 (3/24/94), recorded one assist with 39 PIM in 20 games with Anaheim this season. The 6-3, 210-pound defenseman has appeared in 103 career NHL games with the Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning, earning 3-20=23 points with a +23 rating and 112 PIM. Signed as a free agent on Oct. 17, 2018, Dotchin has collected 4-2=6 points and a +7 rating in 15 games with San Diego this season.
