Player Review: Jaycob Megna

Rookie- Jaycob Megna by NHL.jpg photo by NHL

Jaycob Megna got to show his abilities and what he is capable of doing on the ice at the beginning of the season when the blueline had key players on the IR.

Last season he played 14 NHL games for the Ducks to give some BIG presence he was on ice one because he is really tall and aggressive when he needed to be, but this is not the first season that the Ducks called him. The Ducks also called him to play one game in 2016-17 season

He played 49 games with the AHL on the San Diego Gulls which is the Ducks minor league affiliate. There he scored 2 goals and got 10 assists while being a big body on the ice.

Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks

Megna sits in the same boat as Welinski – a young blueliner looking to grab a spot on a crowded blueline. The hulking 6’6″ defenseman is hard to miss, and a physical style could differentiate him from the team’s other offensive-minded rearguards.

Megna will need to bring it and work hard to show that he belongs to be a regular with the big guns on the Anaheim Ducks. We will see if he worked hard enough to get on the Ducks official roster for 2018-19 NHL season.
