Player Review: Troy Terry

Rookie- Troy Terry by Twitter photo by Twitter

Troy Terry,  one of the prospects of the Anaheim Ducks. During 2017-18 season Terry played on 3 different hockey teams.

Terry played in “an NCAA Champioship with the University of Denver and a World Junior Championship gold medal with Team USA… and 2 season games with the Anaheim Ducks.

As always tradition comtinues when the new rookies who go on the ice first before warmups as the ‘Welcome to the league/NHL’ BUT the Ducks took it a step further and the former Team Canada gold medalists, Captian Ryan Getzlaf and Alternate Captian Corey Perry hid Terry’s helmet before he hit the ice. I’m thinking it was a gold medal Olympics thing but only the team knows the WHY they did it to Troy Terry.

Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks:

Terry showed flashes of the patience, vision and skill in his two NHL contests. While he didn’t find the scoresheet, the rookie didn’t look out of place. A summer of conditioning and adding strength to his 6’1″, 175-lb. frame will set him up for a training camp competition to make the team. Entering the second year of his entry-level deal, Terry can be sent to the minors for more professional experience if he doesn’t make the team’s initial roster.

He is going to be proving himself to the Anaheim Ducks that he belongs as a Duck in the NHL. Let’s see if he put enough hard work to get to be with the big guns in the NHL or remain in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls. That is something that is up to him to show all that he is capable of doing… we will just have to see who goes on the official NHL roster and who goes on the AHL roster.
