Player Review: Andy Welinski

Recently signed Andy Welinski to a 1 year, 2 way contract with the Ducks.

Welinski played in 7 NHL games with the Anaheim Ducks. He finished the season in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls (Ducks top minor-league affilate) with 10 goals and 24 assists.

Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks:

With the departures of Francois Beauchemin and Kevin Bieksa, there’s an open spot for one of the organization’s prospects. Welinski did sign a one-year, two-way contract this offseason, so a return to San Diego remains a possibility. He’s shown plenty of offensive skill, especially in the minors.

With spots for defensemen in the lineup will his hard work and grit pay off for Welinski at the end of training camp. Let’s see if he makes the effort to work hard enough to get a spot on the official roster for the 2018-19 NHL season. We will have to wait until October to see what the Anaheim Ducks decided on and which players got a spot to play with the big guns on the Anaheim Ducks roster.
