Player Review: Luke Schenn

The Anaheim Ducks sign 28 year old vetran defenseman to a one-year contract back in July.

He has plenty of NHL experience on 4 different teams. He has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, LA Kings, and the Arizona Coyotes.

Last season he led the Coyotes in hits (219 hits) and third in blocked shots (105).

In his early NHL experience (2010-2013) he has recorded 150+ hits per season. The most in that time was 270 hits in the 2011-12 season.

Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks:

Schenn could find himself alongside one of Marcus Pettersson or Jacob Larsson on the third D pair once the season starts, but he is not alone. Andrej Sustr, a fellow right-handed shooting defenseman, is also looking for a spot in the lineup.

With having a player like Schenn who has recorded so many hits and blocked shots in his career it will be interesting where he will fit in on the roster and who he will have chemistry on the ice with.
