Player Review: Brian Gibbons

Brian Gibbons played last season just not as an Anaheim Duck, he was a New Jersey Devils. The Ducks signed 30 year old 5 foot 8 inches Brian Gibbons as a free agent earlier this summer.

He broke Devils franchise history by scoring a 3-on-5 shorthanded goal in the regular-season.

Last season he scored 12 goals and 14 assists. Gibbons recorded goals and assists a few of those were shorthanded.

Before Henrique was traded to the Ducks mid-season, Henrique and Gibbons were on the penalty killing unit for the Devils.

Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks:

Gibbons figures to be among a handful of players vying for a bottom-six roster spot with the Ducks, but his penalty-killing prowess and knack for scoring shorthanded goals could help form a potent one-two punch with PK extraordinaire Andrew Cogliano (who also had three SHG last season). Gibbons signed a one-year contract with the Ducks in July.

Gibbons will be a good player for the Ducks in helping the Ducks achieve the main goal and that is winning and playing for the Stanley Cup finals.
