Marcus Pettersson was drafted by the Ducks in 2014 and this season he showed that he has reached ‘pro-level’ hockey.
Pettersson was called up from the San Diego Gulls back in February and he really showed the Ducks what he is made of to be a blue-liner for the Anaheim Ducks.
Season outlook and an interesting update according to the Anaheim Ducks:
There will be a healthy competition for a couple of spots on Anaheim’s blue-line, especially with the addition of veterans Luke Schenn and Andrej Sustr and depth defenseman Korbinian Holzer in the mix. Larsson also figures to get a long look during training camp and preseason. Whether Pettersson makes the Ducks out of camp remains to be seen, but the future appears bright for one of Anaheim’s top young blue-liners.
According to Lindholm, Pettersson often goes by the nickname “Dragon,” though reasons behind said nickname remain unknown.
Marcus Pettersson is going to have to give it everything he’s got in training camp to show the Ducks that he is a player that deserves a spot as a defender on the Ducks official roster for the 2018-19 season.
