There is no player in the NHL that can play the game like Ryan Kesler. He plays with grit, aggression, and one of the toughest competitors in the NHL today.
The team went without Kesler for a majority of the season but when he came on the ice strong and ready to get under the skin of his opponent especially the goaltender.
He was rusty when he started playing again but his inner beast came out and was ready to fight.
In 2018-19 season I’m sure he will be close to playing his game rough and edgy which is a reason some players really don’t want to be on the ice the same time that Kesler is on the ice because it tends to get ugly for them and awesome for the Anaheim Ducks.
Season outlook according to the Anaheim Ducks:
The offseason picture remains cloudy for Kesler. As he admitted during his exit interview, he didn’t play near 100% last season. The amount of work he put in on a daily basis to just suit up was remarkable, and we saw his warrior mentality on a nightly basis.
How will an offseason without surgery – and playing at a lower weight – help Kesler improve? As he moves further away from his surgery, there’s hope he will continue to show progress. As with any major medical procedure, decisions will come from the athlete, team staff and the doctors and physicians most involved with his case.
Kesler’s snarl and toughness are attributes he’ll never lose. The hope is his health allows him to return to the Selke-caliber center the Ducks – and opponents – are used to seeing on a nightly basis.
The BEAST Ryan Kesler is gearing up and looking forward to be ready for the next season. I at least hope that he will play all of the games this season
