It’s a BIG Season for the Anaheim Ducks Franchise

This season is a BIG one for the Anaheim Ducks as they will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Anaheim Ducks. I’m excited to see what is in store for this season.

Last season the Samuali’s teased on Hall of Fame Night that Teemu Selane’s Banner looked a little lonely. Maybe they will retire Paul Kariya’s jersey number. It makes sense since he is in fact in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

What will some of the give-aways and special game nights at Honda Center be?

I do know for a fact that just 25 years ago on opening night the Ducks went up against the Red Wings and now just 25years later on October 8, 2018 the Ducks and Red Wings will meet for the season Home Opener at Honda Center.

“The then Mighty Ducks of Anaheim met Detroit in the club’s inaugural game on Oct. 8, 1993 in front of 17,320 fans at Honda Center (then the Arrowhead Pond). Anaheim’s starting goaltender that night was Guy Hebert, who set virtually all of Anaheim’s original goaltending records from 1993-2001 (while playing 441 games with the team). Defenseman Sean Hill scored the Ducks’ first-ever goal at 4:13 of the second period in an eventual 7-2 defeat. The Ducks and Red Wings have gone on to meet six times in the playoffs over the last 25 years (1997, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2009 & 2013). Anaheim has met no other NHL team in the postseason more than three times.”
