The Anaheim Ducks have signed Andrew Cogliano to a 3-year contract extension which means we have Cogliano all the way through 2020-2021 NHL season.

According to the Anaheim Ducks, Andrew Cogliano has collected 92-113=205 points with a +48 rating and 142 penalty minutes (PIM) in 501 career games with the Ducks. Since joining Anaheim for the 2011-12 season, Cogliano ranks second in the NHL with 14 shorthanded goals and fourth with 19 shorthanded points. Among all-time franchise leaders, Cogliano ranks second in shorthanded goals and shorthanded points, tied for seventh in goals and game-winning goals (15), eighth in plus/minus, and 10th in points and games.

Thoughts from Andrew Cogliano (on contract extension): I love it here. I love the organization, and I’m proud to be a Duck.

Thoughts from Ducks VP/GM Bob Murray (on Cogliano 3-year contract extension: Cogs is such a valuable member our team and we felt it paramount to keep him. He’s very consistent, competes every night and most importantly, is a terrific person. He sets a great example to our younger players with his attitude and approach to the game, and is extremely deserving of this contract extension.

Cogliano breaks a franchise record with every game he plays because that adds to his consecutive game playing streak. Cogliano was acquired from Edmonton in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft on July 12, 2011, Cogliano has never missed a game in his NHL career and currently owns the fourth-longest consecutive games played streak in NHL history (829 games). The streak (889 including playoff games) is the NHL’s longest in more than 23 years, since Steve Larmer’s 884th consecutive game took place on April 15, 1993. His streak is also the second-longest from the start of an NHL career, behind only Doug Jarvis (964 consecutive games from 1975-88).
