Tonight is the start of the Anaheim Ducks’ 4-game road trip. The Ducks take on the Philadelphia Flyers at 4 pm in the Wells Fargo Center. The Ducks are coming off a hot 6-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night. During that game the Anaheim Ducks lost defenseman Cam Fowler with a knee injury and the Ducks are unsure of when his return will be.
There is good news for the Ducks 3 of the Anaheim Ducks injured players just flew off od the injured list and it is perfect timing with Cam Fowler being put on the injured list. Center Ryan Getzlaf, is expected to play his first game since October 11th when the Ducks took on the New York Islanders. Defenseman Hampus Lindholm, is expected to play this will be his first game of the season, after working hard and recovering from his surgery her is good to go and will play with the team. Defenseman Sami Vatanen, is not playing tonight against the Flyers but he did fly out with the team and he might make his season debut on this road trip.
John Gibson, who had an absolutely stellar performance on Friday will be making his 8th consecutive start of the season. Since John Gibson was on his game the Canadiens got goals from pucks Gibson wasn’t able to save, so with a great technically sound goalie coming off a game where he saved 49 of 51 shots on goal, I’m thinking that the Flyers are really going to have to give it all they got from the start to try to get the puck past the outstanding goal-tender JOHN GIBSON.
One of the Anaheim Ducks’ goals for tonight’s game is to start the game off the same way they did on Friday, they need to get the puck to the goal crease and keep on shooting at goaltender Brian Elliott, who got the go ahead to be the one in net. They also need to work on defending and not turning the puck over which will hopefully prevent the Flyers from scoring on John Gibson.
According to the Anaheim Ducks, “Tonight’s contest concludes the two-game season set between these two clubs, making the Ducks’ earliest series finale of the 2017-18 campaign. The Ducks enter tonight’s game with a 17-8-8 all-time mark against the Flyers, including an 8-4-3 record on the road. Anaheim has not lost to Philadelphia in regulation since the 2007-08 season, going 11-0-3 in the process. Furthermore, the Ducks have won six consecutive road games against the Flyers dating to Oct. 20, 2009, a franchise first. with that being said, the Ducks dropped the opener of this two-game series, 3-2 in overtime, back on October 7 at Honda Center.
The Anaheim Ducks are currently 3-3-1 and are taking on the Philadelphia Flyers who are 5-3-0. Tonight my hope is to see the Ducks be 4-3-1 with an away game win against the Flyers, maybe with a win we will see some Ducks fly over the Flyers tonight.
The Anaheim Ducks take on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at 4 pm at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Tune into AM 830 to listen to the game if you aren’t in front of a TV for the puck drop at 4 pm.
LET’S GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
