We got a player off the “Injured List” that’s right Hampus Lindholm will make his season debut on Tuesday when the Anaheim Ducks take on the Philadelphia Flyers in Philadelphia. The Anaheim Ducks that defenseman Hampus Lindholm will for sure be playing in the 1st game of the 4-game east coast road trip.

Hampus Lindholm went through surgery on his shoulder during the off-season. Lately, he has been working hard in practice and that hard work has officially paid off for Lindholm. He has been eager to play in a game and tomorrow will be his first game of the season. The Anaheim Ducks’ medical staff has a part in making his debut before schedule. Hampus Lindholm said, “The medical staff and everyone around me has helped me a lot. They’ve done a good job because I’m ahead of schedule. I feel strong. I’m ready to get out there.”

There is nothing that mimics the pace, physicality and demands of an actual game, but Lindholm has been skating daily since training camp.

Randy Carlyle talks about Lindholm with Eric Stephens of the OC Register, “He’s going to play. It’s going to depend on the game, but I would suspect he’ll get his 20-plus minutes. We won’t be saving him.”

Hampus Lindholm’s return came at exactly the right time, he is back and it is a time where the Anaheim Ducks need him the most. They need him because they will be without Cam Fowler, for an unspecified amount of time after he suffered  a knee injury on Friday against the Montreal Canadiens. Carlyle says Fowler will have reassessment on Thursday. “He’ll see [Dr.] Orr [Limpisvasti, Medical Director, Orthopedic Sergeon],” Carlyle said. “There will be more of a determination. They have to wait until the swelling goes down.”

According to Randy Carlyle, Ryan Getzlaf will play in tomorrow night’s game against the Flyers but Sami Vatanen will not be playing in the game but is on the 4-game east coast road trip, so there is a possibility for Sami Vatanen make his season debut during the road trip, but only time will tell when exactly that will be.
