Tonight the Ducks host Hockey Fights for Cancer.
It’s game day and tonight the Anaheim Ducks face the Buffalo Sabres, they are looking to win this game after losing to the Colorado Avalanche, a team that didn’t have a good season last season. I am hoping that the Ducks work hard and try to prevent slashing penalties, after all that is what really hurt the Ducks.
As we all know the Ducks have been hit hard with injuries, but there is always light to the darkness, good comes on top after the bad and I came into recent news that the Ducks are coming out of the dark. There has been word that Ryan Miller is very close to be ready, there is no for sure word from head coach Randy Carlyle that Miller will play but there is a possibility for him to play soon. Both Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen have been at practice for weeks now and I’m hoping that if not tonight then maybe Friday Oct. 20th game, that they will be game ready to go and to be put in the starting lineup and at that same time being their NHL 2017-18 season debut, 1st game of the season. John Gibson took part in practice yesterday but his status remains uncertain, Gibson has an upper-body injury. Ryan Getzlaf could possibly be scratched from the game due to his lower-body injury, if he doesn’t play tonight, this would be his second consecutive game that he would miss. No new update on Ryan Kesler all that we have heard is that they are expecting him back and playing by Christmas, I just hope that he returns sooner than later. No update on Ondrej Kase on his injury he recieved in the game against the Calgary Flames.
Tonight is game #3 of the Sabres 4-game road trip, a sad one at that. They fell short with a loss to the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Thursday. Last night they were defeated by the Los Angeles Kings 4-2. Even though they played good they weren’t able to come through and yet look to win their first game of the season. With those loses they may play desperate, but they did play last night so they could also play worn out well game-time is about 5 hours away and that is when we will see what type of condition the Buffalo Sabres are in.
Ducks vs. Sabers coming up @6 pm at Honda Center. Tonight is Hockey Fights for Cancer Night
