The Anaheim Ducks face the New York Islanders tonight, which marks the end of their 4-game home-stand. Back in 2016 when the Ducks faced the Islanders marked a record in the Anaheim Ducks franchise, that game marked the longest shootout in Ducks history. That game lasted 3 periods of play, 5-minutes of overtime play, and a 14 shootout round which still is the longest shootout in the Anaheim Ducks history.
Now we still have many key Ducks on the injured list but a few Ducks were spotted in the morning skate today. That’s right 2 defenders and 2 forwards were spotted out at the morning skate so there might be a possibility that Patrick Eaves, Nick Richie, Hampus Lindholm, and Sami Vatanen could be put in the lineup -these players are a game time decision to determine if they are good to go or if they feel like they aren’t ready yet. Ryan Kesler still remains on the injured due to his hip surgery that he had during the off season. Ondrej Kase is a game time decision, his upper-body injury occurred during Monday night’s game- I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he is not in the lineup tonight. Due to the fact that he got push and shoved into both the glass and the boards. Patrick Eaves, who took part in the morning skate, said that he’ll continue to monitor his situation today before making a decision about tonight. So I guess that Randy Carlyle is leaving it up to Eaves to decide if he is good to go or not.
John Gibson, got shoved and pushed in Monday night’s game, things that I would consider as goaltender interference, I am hoping that he is good and that his hand that got slashed and the hit he received that almost broke or did break his helmet won’t prevent him from playing a good game and saving all the pucks that are trying to make their way into the net.
I am hoping that Corey Perry scores tonight since he hasn’t made a goal since the opening game on October 5th. I would like to see him score a whole lot more goals this season that the number of goals that he scored last season.
The Ducks face the New York Islanders Wednesday @7 pm in the Honda Center the final game in their 4-game homestand. So Ducks lets make this last game in the 4-game homestand a good one. Play hard, keep those skates moving, handle the stick real good and lets score some goals to win this one.
LET’S GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
