The Calgary Flames are back at Honda center, we meet them for the first time this season. The last time the Ducks came across the Flames was in the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and during that round a disaster happened and hopefully the Ducks still have rage and are going to give it all they got to put those Flames out and shut them down. The disaster was between Jonny Gaudreau and Kevin Bieksa, when there was a knee-on-knee contact which severely injured Kevin Bieksa to where he was unable to play in the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoff games. So I am expecting there to be a bunch of fights and bodies shoved in the glass and for Josh Manson and Kevin Bieksa, and the rest of the defenders to hit those Calgary Flames so hard that also means a bunch of penalties. So Ducks fans who wants to see the Flames gives the spark of rage and determination to win this game against the Flames, who in my opinion is one of the Anaheim Ducks newest rivals.
As we all know, the Anaheim Ducks have been hit hard with having a bunch of their key players being put on the injured list but as I was reading an article by Kyle Shohara I read some good news. The news being that some of the injured players are players that could possibly end up in the lineup tonight when the Ducks face the Flames. Here is a little bit of the good news that I read, “The Ducks have been hit hard by injuries, but healthy bodies could return to the lineup sooner than later. Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf, who has missed the first two games of the season with a lower-body injury, took part in a full practice yesterday and could make this debut tonight. Patrick Eaves, who missed most of training camp and all of preseason, also practiced, but his availability for tonight is unlikely. Defensemen Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen could make their debuts ahead of schedule (approximate return date was early November), while Ryan Kesler’s timeframe remains long term. Nick Ritchie missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury, but took part in yesterday’s practice.” According to Randy Carlyle, on the injured players said, “Hopefully we can expedite some of these bodies back into our lineup at some point over the next week or so.” Carlyle also said, “That will be up to them and how they respond to the pushing that has to take place for some of them. Eaves missed a good part of training camp and Getzlaf missed the last week of training camp. Vatanen and Lindholm have been skating pretty hard.” To me seeing the players take part in practice is something that I take as a good sign and that there is good chance in playing a game sooner than they had expected.
This is a special game for me because this will be the first of many games that I will be at Honda Center. I am so excited for tonight that I can’t wait for the my day to end and the Ducks vs. Flames game to start. Seats near the glass, excited to see some up close Duck scoring and so Gibson saving action right in front of me. Pics will come and be posted, and I hope to get some good videos to post as well.
Last season Wild Wing wore a firefighter jacket when he skated on the ice for the countdown to game time, I wonder if that will happen tonight, I will just have to wait and see.
Ducks vs. Flames coming to you at 7pm so get to Honda Center early and make sure the game is recorded if you go or watch it on your TV you never know if there is something you missed and want to watch it again.
Buckle up Ducks Fans cause its going to be a wild firery smoky steaming and intense game tonight. And let’s go Ducks. Make it clear to the Flames that THEY DON’T BELONG HERE AT HONDA CENTER.
