It’s game day!!!! The Anaheim Ducks face the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Honda Center. The Ducks are coming off a great victory from Thursday night’s game when they defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-4, it was a brutal match between the two but I feel that the Anaheim Ducks ended up hungry for blood due to all the elements that were in that game. So I’m looking to have this lucky 4-game opening homestand a good one, one where each and every Duck that hits the ice is will to face their opponent, the Philadelphia Flyers, and make them fight extremely hard for them to try to win the game.
Corey Perry, managed to score 2 goals, gained his 350th goal in his entire career, had an interesting fight with the Coyotes goalie, and gained revenge on the goalie with his second goal of the game. He had a tough time scoring last season, so is this a sign that the goal-scoring Corey Perry is back in the zone?
In an article Kyle Shohara wrote, he talked about the history and the records the Anaheim Ducks have with the Philadelphia Flyers. He wrote, “…the Ducks have won a club-record eight straight over the Flyers and have not lost to Philly in regulation since the 2007-08 season. The Ducks have gone 11-0-2 since then, and hold a 17-8-7 mark in the all-time season series. Anaheim enters tonight’s matchup with a four-game home winning streak against the Flyers dating to Jan. 30, 2014…”
As we all know, there are quit a few Ducks on the injured list so we definately don’t expect to see Ryan Kesler, Hampus Lindholm, Sami Vatanen, Ryan Getzlaf, Patrick Eaves, and Ryan Miller. So apparently Getzlaf, Eaves, and Miller are not quit ready to play. With these players Randy Carlyle recalled Giovanni Fiore from the San Diego Gulls, so tonight we will just have to see if tonight is the night that Giovanni Fiore makes his NHL debut.
We saw the Anaheim Ducks come through on the ‘Emotional Opening Night’ with a win and with those same players in the lineup I am hoping to see them come through game in and game out due to the absence of some of the Ducks key players; Lindholm, Kesler, Vatanen, Eaves and Getzlaf. So it’s time to rise up to the challenge and give it all that they got to make your team especially the injured ones, coaches and fans proud. So Ducks lets bring home a win.
The Ducks are currently (1-0-0) so tonight lets see if the Ducks can make that turn into being (2-0-0).
LET’S GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
