My Views On Positions

In hockey there are 3 basic positions, you have your forwards, defenders, and a goalie. Each player on the team contributes and based on the player and their skills determined what position they decided to play and this was decided in a hockey league probably when they were at least 7-10 years of age where they were taught fundamentals and the coach probably had the players try each position to see which was the position that suited them best and which position was the right one for that player.

Now on the Anaheim Ducks you have players like Josh Manson and Kevin Bieska who are real fighters and you can see that in a game not knowing that Kevin Bieska and his brother would go to watch fights with their dad and then start fighting each other on the ice and through that he improved and became a big and strong and aggressive fighter and has been a great player that the Anaheim Ducks acquired. Now Josh Manson is a kid who followed the path of his father, who was a NHL player that played for the Edmonton Oilers. Josh Manson is one of those players that just delivers he delivers those big and hard hits, to me when he delivers a hard hit it is like he turns into a wrecking ball.

Basically your forwards have 3 positions, right wings, centers, and left wings. Ryan Kesler, Ryan Getzlaf, and Corey Perry are the Anaheim Ducks’ centers and they are the leaders of the team those 3 centers are also the captains of the Ducks. Each of them has a speciality of their own even though they play the same position on the ice. Now, Corey Perry’s office is just so happens to be located in the blue paint and right in front of the goalie and tends to find countless ways to get that puck into the net. According to Twitter his social media nickname has become and still is  #ScoreyPerry even when he does have some problems getting the puck to the back of the net. Just like Corey Perry’s office that is sometimes the place where you might find Ryan Kesler scoring like a boss. Ryan Kesler’s speciality is found in the faceoff circle, he is one of the top players that is best at winning faceoffs, and according to an interview he had last season he said that there is like 6 or more ways that he wins the faceoffs. According to Twitter his social media nickname has become #KesBoss even though he may not always act like a boss. The captain Ryan Getzlaf is one of the players that can be found all over the ice, he has a way of getting the puck and forming a play to hopefully get a goal out of it or many many many rebound shots off of that one play. According to Twitter his social media nickname has become #ElCaptain he continues to be called that no matter what type of game he is playing if it was his best or very best.

The goalie has a very crucial and important and physical job in each game. His job is to prevent the puck from passing the red line and into the goal. John Gibson is the #1 goalie for the Anaheim Ducks and in every game he proves how flexible you have to be shifting and sliding and catching pucks all over the place to try to make sure they don’t make it into the goal.  The coach can decide to call the goalie in at the last minute or 2 left in the game when the team is losing and need a goal to tie which makes it a 6 on 5 player trying to get that puck in the net but it is risky because the defenders have to be a goalie and really defend the net in making sure the opposing team doesn’t score on their empty net.
